Former President & CEO | Gehl Foods
Katherine M. Gehl is a business leader, entrepreneur, and political innovation activist. Katherine was president and CEO of Gehl Foods, a high-tech food manufacturing company, where she led an aggressive and transformational growth strategy. In 2015, Katherine sold the company-in part to be able to dedicate more time to political reform.
Over the past decade, Katherine has focused on the urgent need for non-partisan political innovation and reform. For the first time ever, she applied classic business tools to analyze politics as an industry. In 2016, Katherine invited Michael Porter from Harvard Business School to join her work and together, they co-authored research and analysis on our political system titled, “Why Competition in the Politics Industry is Failing America: A strategy for reinvigorating our democracy.”
Katherine is the co-chair of the National Association of Non-Partisan Reformers (NANR) and on the Board of Unite America. In 2018, Katherine co-founded Democracy Found, a Wisconsin-based initiative dedicated to implementation of two priority electoral reforms through state legislation.
