Director of National Advocacy and Mobilization | Housing Works/Birddog Nation
Paul Davis is a member of ACT UP, and the National Advocacy Director for Housing Works, the nation’s largest AIDS services and advocacy organization. Paul is the co-convener of the Birddog Nation, a network of activists in 127 cities (and counting!) that packed townhalls and candidate events demanding universal healthcare. These activists then showed up in DC over and over again to occupy the offices of politicians who were trying to take away healthcare to pay for tax cuts for millionaires. Paul has led campaigns to fight for health equity for over 20 years, including leading the birddogging-based movement that won affordable billions in U.S. funding for generic HIV medication that are now reaching tens of millions of people in impoverished countries. He lived in Kenya for five years, accompanying front-line HIV organizations across the continent to successfully demand more from U.S. government-sponsored global health initiatives, as well as domestic governments.
