Senior Political Strategist | Issue One
As Senior Political Strategist at Issue One, Weston is focused on bringing people together around cross-partisan reform solutions that would restore confidence in the U.S. Congress, and more broadly, in our political system.
Weston considers himself a child of the political reform movement — recalling the issue of dark money as one of the first he learned about growing up as the son of fmr. Rep. Zach Wamp, one of fmr. Senator John McCain’s chief Republican allies on money in politics issues.
After years working with startup companies, Weston co-founded one of the best known venture capital funds in the South. Having nearly unseated his incumbent member of congress at 27 years old in a Republican primary in 2014, Weston gravitated back to politics after selling his interest in the Tennessee-based fund he started.
Weston lives in Chattanooga, Tenn with his wife, Shelby, and their three children, River, 4, Griffin, 2, and newborn Aldridge.
